Not WW2 German, that much I do know.

What it is exactly, I don't know.

    Mate,

Isn't that a Swiss marking in the middle as indicated?

I've had a closer look and there appears to be something stamped into the leather between the two pouches. It looks like a company name Hans Schw.. (I can't read it - it's very feint) - underneath it says Battler and underneath that Oberburg. There is a number 44 underneath where it says Oberburg and under that it a vertical rectangular box with a cross over a letter W.

Does this mean anything to you? By the way, each pouch is split into two separate compartments each about two inches square so I don't think it would be for a radio.

    Hello,
The markings, the leather and studs indicate a swiss origin
    Thanks

Each pouch is divided into two compartments each approximately two inches x two inches.

The strap, leather and hardware all look Swiss. I had some of this stuff as surplus at one time.
