WWII German fire extinguisher (?)

Article about: Hey Guys - an item I've not seen before... Is this a fire extinguisher, maybe used in tanks or some kind of armored vehicle? It's made of red copper I belive. THX, Fabe

    Would TETRA be the trade name because the extinguisher held Tetrafluoromethane also known as carbon tetrafluoride? I seem to remember seeing very old glass fire grenades with this liquid inside. A nasty substance and due to its density, tetrafluoromethane displaces air, putting fires out and creating an asphyxiation hazard in inadequately ventilated areas. It also has an atmospheric life of 50,000 years which makes very bad for the environment.
