Y straps

Article about: G'day gents, Just like to ask a question about these Y straps if I may, are these correct German WW2 era Y straps? I know there are others around but I'm not sure on how to tell them apart.

    G'day gents,
    Just like to ask a question about these Y straps if I may, are these correct German WW2 era Y straps? I know there are others around but I'm not sure on how to tell them apart. Any advice is greatly appreciated,

    They appear to be good, earlier ones, I believe.
    (metal hooks as opposed to aluminum)

    It’s the other way around, early ones have alu hardware, later ones steel....

    These are good y straps... good end strap (these are often replaced)

    Are there any stamps? (Look for them on the back of the strap, or on the leather o-ring

    Thanks for your help and advice Tom. There is at least one stamp in the leather but I don't have these as yet to get some decent photos. I'll try to attach the sellers pic. Thanks again for your help.

    Y straps
    This is the pic showing the stamp in the leather. I'll take some other pics when the straps arrive here in a week or two. Thanks again for your help and advice.

    Ah, maker mark Wittkopp & Co., Bielefeld......

    Year? Could be 42........

    No stitching on the auxiliary straps, so could be used on an early set.....

    Thanks Tom, as soon as they get here I'll take some close up pics of any markings and post them here. They're coming from the Netherlands too! Also wanted to say, your website is fantastic mate, really good clear photos and full of great information, I first saw it years ago and still visit regularly.
