Hi, Gaines !
They are civilian, pressed into service during WWII, as Pierre N suggests.
Zeiss were the top of the line in optics and probably still are to this day !
They are worth more with the 'bring-back' certificate too, and although
I cannot really give you an accurate value, it would have to be
at least $200. ( The case 'looks' American or Allied to me.
But perhaps someone else can give you a better idea ! )
Sadly, I missed a similar powered pair marked 'Dienstglass' at an antique
store a few years ago, which were selling for $35 CDN............ !

the case looks like original issue to the binocs...i have noticed that when it came to leather cases,,allied and axis look very similar sometimes...
