    Default Finnish Lieutenants ID

    Hi all,

I acquired this ID recently and I found it interesting, along with the story.

The owner was Yrjö Matti Julku, who was born on the Karelian Isthmus at the town of Kuolemanjärvi in 16.06.1918. The ID has been issued five months before the start of the Continuation War and his rank at that time was second lieutenant, but he was promoted to the rank of an lieutenant later. He fought with the 1st Battalion of the Infantry Regiment 4 (1./JR4) and fell at Palalahti, Salmi, Ladoga Karelia on 03.07.1944. He has been buried in Helsinki and I'm planning on visiting his grave soon and sharing photos of his tombstone here. I will probably also order a research of his files from the army, I just find this particular ID very interesting.
