Availability of WWII Soviet flags on the collector's market?
Hello, folks!
I was just thinking to myself that I've seen tons of American, Japanese, and of course German WWII vintage flags on the market...
I'd like to add a nice Soviet WWII vintage flag... just your typical run of the mill red banner with golden hammer, sickle, and star... BUT I have NEVER seen one for sale! Beyond that, I haven't seen very many British WWII vintage flags for sale, either!
Can anyone comment on the availability of Soviet WWII flags? It seems as if there are so many iconic WWII photos of Soviet troops with these flags... but they seem to be rare!
If anyone knows of a good source for a modestly sized flag that fits my needs, I'd appreciate it!

I'd be very interested in learing about this too. The kid is starting to target soviet militaria and I've had my eyes opened for a decent period flag but seems these things are rare, or we're just looking in the wrong place.

I'm thinking the exact same thing, Russ!
Anyone care to comment?

I am so surprised by this! Soviet propaganda would make you believe that every soldier was waving a flag on their march towards Berlin. I would have thought that they'd be a dime a dozen and that all those $90 M91/30 rifles that have been imported into the USA would be wrapped in them!

Full sized soviet flags seemed to have disspeared. The Navy jack I found was the first one I'd seen in a VERY long time that was full sized and it is only from the 1980s!

Naval, and I believe it is usually flown on the bow of the vessel.
