    I would not wash it, it looks great and has that been there feel to it, besides the fabric is so old that it may just damage it. Leave it as is, I believe most here will agree.

    Hi, I for one agree with maximus, do not wash it. I very rarely wash anything I acquire as far as cloth goes. If I find something like a flag or pennant, I, IMO, the dirt, grime, or period repairs tell a story. It gives the piece a personality, makes it sort of an "individual". Although certain cloth items you expect to find in clean condition, where this comes from, you expect a little dirt and wear.
