U 995 arrived in Kiel in 1972 when she was given to the Germans as a gift from the Norwegian Navy , the museum was built earlier, I believe.

Yes its a WW1 design flag. The reason I think its a souvenir is they surely wouldnt have a picture of a Uboat on it . Anyway let the flag experts confirm

I believe the picture of the sailor is the famous painting depicting von Spee's defeat at The Battle of the Falkland Islands in 1914.
