Need opinions on a State Service Flag 80X135 Cm Size

Once again I am looking to buy a something off CL, this time it is a flag. I don't know much about these type or what to look for in identifying original or not and I was hoping you guys could help me out. It is being offered to me for $175 plus shipping. The price concerned me a little because a similar one sold for $510 at German WWII (about halfway down). I compared pictures of the one I am looking to buy and the one that sold already and I noticed that there were some irregularities in the eagle symbol. I believe that may be because of different makers but I was not positive. There are some moth holes in the flag that you can see in the pictures. It appears to me that this is a one piece, does that mean later in the war, or were these always made in this manner?

It is difficult to make a call on this piece as no construction details can be seen. Are there any stamps on the flag? Every example of this form of flag I have ever seen are the printed variety as is this one. I would ascribe minor variations from one flag to another as manufacturer differences. I hope some of this information helps you.

Looks ok to me....

Bob if you look at the top right hand corner in the second pic, there is a stamp.

Thanks guys, Bob that was very helpful. As Teutonic mentioned there are markings on the second picture. I believe it says Reichsdsflg. .80 x 1.35

Is there any part of the flag in particular that you would like to take a closer look at? The seller is holding it for me and I can ask him for more detailed pics of a certain spot.

The flag looks good to me. These flags don't come up near as often as do the battleflags and are just as much or more in demand. Nothing on it is looking irregular. For the money, I'd give it a shot for sure. William

Ask for a shot of the flag without the foot. Just to check that he isn't trying to hide something. Looks a nice flag though, good price too.
