Hi,
This rather dirty 30cm long SA pennant has me puzzled. I seen a number of these but without a silver chord edge. What's the significance of the silver cord ? Any information appreciated.

Maybe used on a staff car? Just a guess, but I like it!
This is likely an early piece with piping indicating the button color used by that SA Gruppe. Gold would have been used on Gruppe that had the gold button. Later pennants were unpiped.

Bob,
Thanks for the post, I did place it on other forums. The common wisdom seems to be, as you say early SA and it maybe a officer's pennant, if so would it be fitted to a car or to a pole ?
Regards
It is a car pennant and would have been utilized only by officers.

These SA pennants were allowed to be displayed on the vehicle of any SA member, not only officers, while on duty. I believe the twist cord piping was unofficial--occasionally these are also seen with 2 color SA piping as used around the collar of the tunic and brownshirt. I agree with Bob about the button color and that it's an early piece.
