Schelle Banner

Article about: Hello, Just picked up this schellenbaum banner. It is unusually heavy. The tassels and fringe are heavy in weight and metallic silver. Very detailed.

I can't imagine having to walk around with a Schellenbaum. It must have weighed a ton.
It was looked for special and strong persons. Often there was a second person,
known as Begleitperson, available to take over. The carrying-strap with
"Schuh" was a big help and made carrying much easier.

Here some photos from my German gorget-book:

I cannot find the weight for a Schellenbaum in spite of in-depth descriptions.
I have no description for the one for the army nor for the Luftwaffe. In the
army-regulation they do mention weight for item.
For example the one for the RAD was over 2.30 meter (image is from the
    1939-handbook):

A photo from the collection of Bill Shea (US), when he had his Schellenbaum banner collection, and I think several of these banners
    have now been sold off....

Strange eagle-form. One would think the eagle-form as for pennants
would be used!! It looks as some women's homework! Whatever it is,
I do not like the form for the wings!!

Here the eagle-forms for pennants as shown in:
"Die Rimann'sche Sammlung deutscher Automobilflaggen und KFZ-Stander"
    from Andreas Herzfeld:
