unknown pole top

Hello guys.
I have a pole top finial that has had the inside removed at some time. It seems to be made of bronze or brass has heavy patina and of some age but no makers mark. I have looked on the net for similar a similar shaped design without success. There are three fixing points that have been cut and ground. It was bought from a German dealer at a military fair this year.
So can anyone suggest what this pole top looked like before being altered or in fact if it is German.

im sure ive seen soviet army pole tops in this style ,but dont quote me on that

I too think it was 3rd Reich.look in flags and standards section.

Thanks for the replies. I also thought it might be Russian but have been unable to find a similar design. It is a shame there is no markings to give me a clue. Does anyone know if any other axis countries used such flag tops such as Austria or Italy etc?
