    Default Unusual Wall Banner

In all of my years of collecting, I never encountered a wall banner such as this. It was brought back after the war by a U S Army 1st Division NCO. He showed it to me two years ago when he came to see my collection along with his brother-in-law, who was a friend of mine. The gentleman passed away in mid 2008. A few weeks back, the man's widow contacted my friend who is her brother. I was given the opportunity of being the next care taker of this most unusual item.
The question is, who can identify the organization this banner represents with it's proper German name? After the correct answer is given, I will complete the story of where and how the veteran picked this piece up.

The answers are correct. The name of this organization is BDSDJ Bund Nationalsozialisticher Deutscher Juristan or the Organization of National Socialist German Jurists.
In 1945, the veteran entered the courhouse in Bonn and found this banner hanging on the wall in the main courtroom. As he related it, he said, "that's mine." One of his men picked up his M-1 rifle and shot a hole in banner saying, "you mean that one." as luck would have it, the shot only made a small tear in the fabric and there is no material loss. I believe this to be a very rare banner. I have never heard or seen of another example in a collection or for sale. I must once again say that I am proud to be nominated as the new caretaker of this piece. It will not be as long as the first owner who had it for63+ years.

I had never even seen or heard of this design before. Very nice indeed. I love the story of how it was liberated!

    Cheers, Ade.
