I posted this text also with the earlier thread about this buckle, which is a nice one for the German Gymnastics Association.
Would love to see a better photograph for the marking, which looks like and L&W, with a sort of roof upon the both letters.
Can't remember ever having seen this one.

The marking could stand for Lohmann & Welschehold from Meinerzhagen, as this concern is listed in 1933 (amongst 32 others)
as a manufacturer for buckles for the organization! It was specifically said in the publication that others, then the ones listed, were officially
not allowed to produce this type of buckle (Deutsche Sportartikel-Zeitung, nr. 13 from 1933, page 8).

The note says literally: Es wird ausdrücklich darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass nur die hier veröffentlichten Hersteller amtlich
zugelassen und berechtigt sind, die Teile der Gleichtracht der DT herzustellen und abzugeben. The note was from the Geschäftsstelle
(the office for the association).

The note from the Geschäftsstelle included further that shops selling dresses and such for the gymnastics
were only allowed to purchase from manufactuers as listed above. The related shops were given a permission
(Verkaufszulassung). These permissions were granted through a Turnerbezirk (a district). As always there
will be manufacturers that have produced the buckle without an official permission!

Just found out that Berg & Nolte from Lüdenscheid must have gotten their permission in late 1933, or early 1934
(they advertised that a final decision was made for the buckle for the Deutsche Turnerschaft, according to DT-
specifications - gesetzlich geschützt) and Giesse & Schmidt from Ruhla theirs in the course of 1934 (maybe even
not earlier then 1935)!!

I'm having problems identifying the mark on a Heer Ali one piece. Can anyone help please? It's situated under the prong bar in a circle that's 3cm across and one way up looks like an anchor and the other way an ornate letter T. Many thanks for your help. Philw

Create a separate thread and post pictures of it, sounds like a Friedrich Turch buckle to me
