Is this belt buckle real or fake?

I got this buckle from a gun show for $20 and I'm wondering if it's fake or real. Something just don't look right to me.

I dont like the shape or details of the bird and the swastica I beleive is too thin and long. Lee

An early (1970's) fake and probably now, a collectors item in it's own right !

Fake buckle, common term for this one is the "woodpecker" if Im not mistaken. Some people I think call it the "bat buckle" however I think it looks more like a woodpecker
