Article about: is this weimar, imperial, wwii --- or even german?? buckle is unmarked cast gilded brassi. belt is satin and velvet with a leather adjustment band. thanks!

    I don't know what it is but I don't think it is German. Brazil and Russia used a star over the anchor but not a wreath like this.

    thanks; I'd thought japan too but noooo. construction details look quite german to me but then as you say the russians took this style as well - but oval not round I b'lieve....

    One thing is certain - it's not German. I've seen such buckles advertised as Soviet Navy, but couldn't say whether this attribution is correct.
