I have wanted to get a good reference book about buckles so i bought this. And I think it was a good buy. Maybe later on i will hunt down the buckle book written by Peter Nash and /or an Assman reprint (suggested by Mr. Saris).

Maybe the extended HJ-version from Angolia is also a book for you.
Nash, is up to you. The Nash-book is admired by many buckle-collectors.
I do not like the book at all. It was given to me. Myself I never would
    have bought it!

I have both the Angolia and Nash book Stig and in IMO this forum is a better place of knowledge than either of them.

That's correct Ben. For me the Nash-book has no value at all!

These comments have made me change my mind about the Nash book. I`ll save my money on that one and Instead donate some to this forum.

I agree.. Both books have their fair share of mis-information or mis-guidance.. Although, it would be wise to do your own study here when possible.. G

I seldom ever go to any of the reference books. The info on the forum is vastly better and more up to date. Ben has done a great job organizing the sub forums and the sticky threads. WFA has a better search function but War Relices is organized so it is easy to find useful info.

Maybe one day a descent buckle-book will be available,
which tells the truth and not has included a lot of made
    rough guesses and nonsense.
Made mistakes in the mentioned books are taken over
and noted at forums (here and at WAF). Let's wait and
see what's going to happen in the next years!

Most books about the subject are just good for one
    thing only (in my opinion):
