Croupon is quality leather, the number might give you a maker if its its code?
Ben
Yeah I've been trying to research the code, but I keep coming up empty...
Does anyone know where 1249 was made?
I have had several belts with Croupon, some with the manufactures name or logo. Not sure you’ll ever be able to find out what that number means. Too early for some kind of RBN code. Could be some kind of manufacturers code or could even be a code for the color of the belt. As long as it’s original what’s really matter who manufactured the belt.
Thanks kirby for the insight. The belt came with an exactly matching cross strap, which has "Höxter" manufacturer's location engraved into it. I'll assume the belt is made by the same company the strap was made. I think the owner of the belt could *possibly* be Adolf Wedderwille of Westfalen. I'll still find more guys with their names starting with "A.W." to narrow down.
Many thanks to Ben and kirby again.
Cheers
~Antonio
I have had a few belts with the owner name in ink. It is usually tough to read these names. I have an Officers belt with an ink stamp with a doctors name.
Do you guys think this is just the manufacturer stamp?:
