I dug it out of the garage to give you all another giggle!

When I got this in trade in 1974 I thought it was genuine ( but forgive me, I was a 14yr old schoolkid ) and how was I to know what a TeNo buckle was like? These guys put a donald duck inside a Luftwaffe wreath! ........ go on, have a giggle, life is too serious!!

    Well Dan,

I must tell you that these 1970's fake/fantasy buckles are to some quite collectible and yet still, they occasionally appear on the odd dealers site with a description as original. There are even buckles from the same family which have a fake Eickhorn marked blade well and truly brazed on and which are again, sold as original "fighting knife buckles".

An interesting retro perspective do you not think ?

    Regards,

    David

    Hi Ben,
You posted one of these in Rogues Gallery back in 2008 and it's the same, only clearer photos.

    Hi Dave,
Yep as long as they are clearly id'd as fakes then everything is collectable I guess. Even the copy / post war Souval badges with the tell tale "cutout" catch are now collectable. The anti-partisan badge for example ( good detail, weight and metal ) won't mean mortgaging the house to own one.
