Marker ?

Article about: Finally, the same buckle Markus has shown. Looking closely (it doesn't come out very well in the picture, but it's clear in hand), the marking ist G.C.S.L. Best regards, Kurt

Interesting maker mark....not one that I recognize. The buckle is original by the looks of it. I'm sure someone can help you out. I look forward to having this mystery solved!

I was wondering if it was an old Overhoff maker mark but I suppose that company is so well documented we would have seen this in the catalogues before now.

    Hi all,

Don't think this is an Overhoff mark. One can find many maker's markings on this type of Deutsche Turnerschaft buckle never encountered on any other kind of buckle. I have a couple of which I can't for the life of me identify the maker. It makes you wonder whether these could all have been actual buckle manufacturers if they only made this one pattern. Identifying this one would be pure chance. I remember a thread on a German forum where someone identified a "mystery maker" from an ad in a period trade journal.

    Best regards
    Kurt
