    I'm just posting this as a small alert to everyone that Pawel Novak is running a scam on Craigslist regarding SS buckles. I contacted him for more information, and his response was signed with the characteristic "Pawel."

    Here is the ad:

    Also, please do not give him your e-mail address if he asks. He asked for mine, but I replied in such a way that he cannot see it. Also, don't open any attachments in his e-mails. They are probably benign, but perhaps not, so be aware.

    Most likely, the 'seller' doesn't even own any of these buckles. The photo was probably stolen from someone else.

    I've read in other sources that there is no Pawel Novak, or at least not one person that is pulling these scams all over the world. Apparently, it's a group of con artists running scams under that name. What surprises me is the fact that they keep using the same name when most collectors are well aware of it.

    Pawel emailed me a few weeks ago wondering if I wanted to buy some of his collection. I too am surprised he or they haven't ditched the name Pawel Novak yet.
