Strafbatailione Koppelschloss

Bought this Strafbatailione Buckle a couple of weeks ago. Looked for another one in the buckle forum to compare it with mine, didn't find any. Post this one as a first specimen, no makers mark, has nearly all of its grey coating, imagine it was never issued.

These are very interesting as i've read lots of conflicting views on these, it'll be good to see what the buckle guys say.

Alec, a very dodgy subject to be honest as its originality and purpose are not really known, some say they are period others say post war. My personal take on these is that they were post war made but for what purpose I have no idea.

Take a closer look at the buckle. It should be marked B&N 43. Ever one have have seen has been marked. I had a well worn example of this buckle but every other example i have seem has been in near mint to mint condition.

no one can tell for what is make .......

Some exist with stamp from B&N43 . They in time made and after 1945 reshaped for civil .

That you show like a new time recovery of this buckles ...............

Bought one of these mint pieces from Huesken on a fair for Euro 25!

He has still a lot of them for sale! ... and yes, of course a post war production. A friend of mine has a photo where a Feuerwehrmann is wearing such a buckle.
