Not my tale to tell - but if they could only talk to tell theirs!! Excuse me as I have posted these before but in less detail and they still intrigue me.

The first is a Police buckle, de-nazified cleverly turning it into a sort of Rubik's cube. I have wondered whether the original owner did this during the final stages of the war ( as many police were used by the allies in road traffic duties - disarmed of course )
Note how the reverse was not damaged in the process ....... neat!

The second is a Russian modified buckle that was dug up ( perhaps the second owner suffered the same fate as the first??? )
Rather than waste a Ruble, the canny soldier used a pfennig to rivet the guards badge on. I toyed with the notion that it "could" have been a German trophy modification but that would have been career ( and life ) limiting I think!

    Hope you like them!
    Cheers, Dan
