The Swastika is going the wrong way, not German.

An interesting buckle and one which has baffled me for years.

I have always thought that this buckle was a fantasy item. A design incorporating a swastika of sorts, complete with a sword and hammer. It has always seemed though a strange design for a fantasy buckle. Buckles with quasi swastika and hammers are not exactly the most popular of types.

Last year I saw a "similar" buckle from a once advanced collector and which perhaps is now in Russia. The roundel had the same type of swastika, however the positioning of the sword and the hammer were completely different. The head of the hammer was at ten o clock and the hilt of the sword was at two o clock.

The buckle appeared to be pre 1945, although goodness knows what organisation it represented.

Yury - the one that you have shown is and in my opinion, a fake.

    Regards,

    David
