Bro how do you know that he is a panzer grenadier? Is it written on the reverse?
no, nothing on the reverse about that. Bronze Panzerkampf Abzeichen, light colored waffenfabre on cap and boards, so it was an assumption. He could be a panzerjager, armoured personnel etc

Leander, I had a try at the same one you did as well. I noticed you had added a bit of redness to the cheeks (i think)....so I tried it too. Something I had never done before.
I also notice that you do strong colors in the eyes, so I also tried that this time too! Its been fun trying to learn little techniques from other members colorizations.

Here is a challenge for you colourisation wizards
:

I would appreciate it very much if someone could bring some colour into his life - he already has a drink and a cigar!

Thanks
AMTG!
The BW photos still has all the shades and shadows, therefor you only need one color (Kind of a transparent layer in a way) on lets say the uniform, and the shades and shadows will do the lighting.
All the colors are done manually to get the right color, using different methods and with some luck you can get some realistic looking photos.
I use my original ww2 collectibles and ww2 reference books to get the color I want, just compering buy looking.
Best regards from Norway

thanks for the explanation....I think my opinion on colourisation was clouded by some of the dodgy ones I used to see.....but you have a true talent here, so subtle in the way you do it, it enhances the photo rather than "colouing it in"
