I think this was before Knobelsdorf was awarded the RK.... so before September of 41'. Major Walter Mecke was killed December 1, 1941...... only 8 days after being awarded his KC!!
** Either Mecke is standing on something, or he was one big guy! ( or Knoblesdorf was small)
