I love the feldposts! I have a thread of ww1 ones. So much can be learned from these! I have a bunch of full letters from one soldier to his girl from WW2. Awesome stuff. I hope someone translates this for you. Maybe HPL can.

Would be great to get it translated but it might be difficult, it is written in pencil and as I can't read German I'm not sure how legible it is. It looks like the bloke may not have put neat writing on the top of his priority list either.

Oh, how I hate that Sütterlin script... Alright, here we go, but I'm afraid I had to leave a few blanks.

    It says:

    "[in print:]

    1941
    Frohe
    Weihnachts-
    Grüße
    aus
    Rußland

    [in handwriting:]

und die besten Wünsche zum Jahres-
wechsel sendet Dir, lieber Adolf, Deiner
    lieben Gattin und besonders
    [...] [...] [...]
    allen Kameraden von der Zusammenkunft
    am 2.11.41 Dein Paul

    [inverted, in handwriting on top:]

    Für alle Grüße herzlichen Dank.

    ...meaning:

    "[in print:]

    1941
    Merry
    Christmas-
    Greetings
    from
    Russia

    [in handwriting:]

and the best wishes for the turn of the
year are sent to you, dear Adolf, your
    dear wife and especially
    [...] [...] [...]
    all comrades from the gathering
on 2 Nov. 1941 Your Paul

    [inverted, in handwriting on top:]

    Heartfelt thanks for all greetings"
