Recent Kriegsmarine photo. The eyes didn't turn out well though.
G'day Bill, hope you are well.
I was wondering if I could ask a huge favor from you. Could you please use your huge talents on this photograph of my great grandparents. You've very generously colored a photo of him some time ago, and I hate to ask you again.
Unfortunately my Great Grandfather actually passed away today at age 93. He served in the Australian Army as a hospital orderly. A motorbike injury in 1938 prevented him from joining up for the AIF, even though he tried all sorts of tricks to get into the infantry. He never talked much about it. A combination of dealing with the PTSD from the casualties and I suspect guilt from not being able to be 'doing his bit' at the front. His brother served as a mechanic in the desert airforce, and one of his good mates was captured by the Germans on Crete and spent the rest of the war in a Stalag.
Anyway, my rambling aside, here is the photograph. Anything you could do would be greatly appreciated by the family
Hi Dio. Sure thing my friend. I am truly sorry for your loss. At least he had a full life, living to the age of 93.
I will do my best on it, I am just nervous about the background to be honest, as it is kinda blury compared to the rest, which can ruin a photo's look. Will see what I can come up with!
