    Default Re: Early France?

Picture 2 might be Paris, Notre Dame in the background. The officer has something on his left forearm, SD?
Picture 3. Are they wearing M43 caps? They appear to have no breast eagles, if this is recruit training would they only be entitled to wear the eagle after 'passing out'? If they are wearing M43's then all the helmets shouldn't have the tricolour decal by this time. Is it possible they are Alpine troops or does the tunic pockets also give a mid war period?
Picture 4 seems to show forming up for some sort of a parade, France i would think by the shutters on the windows. The officers horses are standing by.
