this is an interesting subject.
As a collector of photographs it is something i have not really paid attention too in regards to a photograph. The subject and the content of the image seemed more important.
Thanks for bringing this subject to my/our attention.
Now that you have me going through my albums, here are a few from my collection.
have some magnificent photographs.
my collection is 100% Kriegsmarine,as you may have guessed.
Over the years i have collected images of KM awards, insignia and cap tallies in wear.
I'm always looking for images of the Hilfskreuzer and Blockadebrecher awards in wear.
Probably, like you,i also have images with photogaphers printed or ink stamps on them.
Again,thanks for starting this thread.
A few more that i found, although i am not sure if the first two are the stamps of German photoraphers ?
This is an interesting area. Just goes to show that when it comes to collecting there really is no limit to what topic someone wishes to concentrate on.
I don't collect photos as such so what ones I have are those that I have acquired along with Citations, Soldbucher etc. These are the ones I have found.
Thanks for your contribution here Kevin.
Now,thanks to Raul for starting the thread i would like to expand the topic to the "ink stamped" photographers marks we mainly see on the reverse of period TR photographs.
We see these marks on the reverse of period photo's as the fiber-based paper absorbed the ink on the stamp quite well.It still does,to this day when i work in my darkroom i still use Agfa and Ilford fiber-based paper.
What is nice is that some of these ink stamps are dated also.
Here are a few from my collection.
