Nice pictures.
To the interested in such aspects I would reccomend the book PANZER GENERAL, the memory of F.W. GUDERIAN; it is a vivid and interesting description of the Panzer truppen on the east front.
Cheers
Im thinking number of tanks killed?? Maybe they did that before they painted kill rings around the guns barrels?? Ive seen other pics like that one before-but nor sure where?
I dunno? No telling with those crafty Germans ;-))
Hey great pics, one of the main reason for joining apart from the Historical side is I am building model dioramas of Stalingrad and or steet fighting with Panzers, Pak weapons and troops,
that peice of armour with all the German crosses is extraordinary, what the heck is it and do you have more info please,
I just joined the night I write this,
I was an Aussie tankie and drove all APC's and Centurion and Leopard 1AS4 Main battel panzers myself eventually became crew commander of a Leopard before going to the SAS Regt in OZ land,
German Armour fascinates me
cheers
and put more pics up please

Looks like a Panzer IIc missing an MG, I am wondering if those crosses don't signify that each member of the crew was awarded the iron cross. I just looked at a couple of other pictures of the Panzer IIc's the only thing I might question about it being a Panzer IIc is that the mantlet on the reference pics have a distinct rectangular form around the MG barrels. This one does not seem to have them in the picture, although they may be there and just blurred, the left side of the pic is pretty well out of focus.
Chris I was an Australian Army tank man myself, what Squadron were you with and when were you in?
