No idea what is says on the back as I cant read german , but I like the photo very much

Interesting. I met a german veteran once who showed me some pictures of the last time he saw his dad. It was a somewhat similar photograph of them both going out for a horseback ride. I guess it was the thing to do back then.

Yep - both are Heer Officer's. They have some type of insignia
on their caps between the eagle and cockade.........

Looks like cavalry totenkopfs. That would also probably explain why they are on horses...
