Default Heer oath ceremony photo - Any info?

I've just acquired my first Third Reich photo, I found this one to be really interesting. Not only is it quite iconic visually, but it also seems to document something interesting- I think it's the Wehrmacht Oath of Loyalty to Hitler. I know that people here will be able to verify this and elaborate as to the content of the photo. Also, if anyone could read the handwriting on the back, that would be excellent- I can't make out anything.
    Thanks for looking!

Hi Mat, you are correct on the ID: they are mountain troopers. Note the sleeve insignia and the boots worn by the recruits.

    Cheers, Ade.

Notice all the double decal helmets and marksman's lanyard worn by the flag bearer.

    Great pic.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate the confirmation Ade. I wouldn't have known these were Gebirgsjäger- I think I've always pictured them just wearing the caps, rather than helmets. Bill, I think you're right about this not being the last; that seems to be how it goes with this hobby!

Can anyone decipher the handwriting on the reverse at all?

    Cheers, Mat

    Here's your translation:
"Das ist die Vereidigung. Unsere neue Jägerfahne."
    meaning:
"This is the swearing-in ceremony. Our new "Jäger"-flag."

Brilliant, thank you very much! I would never have made out the writing, I can still barely manage it even knowing what it says. I find writing on photos adds a lot to them, even if it's just a basic description of what's happening in them- it's a personal touch from someone who was actually there.

Surely it's a GBJ patch as Ade posted, not flag bearers? Also notice all double decal helmets and marksman's lanyard worn by the flag bearer.

    Great pic.

I noticed you edited your post Bill.

Jerry, Yes I did edit my post 2 seconds after I posted, quickly realizing it was not a fahnentrager patch, but GJ as Ade had stated. My bad.

Mat, look forward to seeing any future pick-ups.
