this doesnt have anything to do with this thread, but i just picked up a really cool original photo of feld marschall wilhelm Keitel at an Odessa parade sporting a knights cross(maybe oak leaves?). I dont know who the man on the left is, but its a cool photo to add to my collection. What are the bars called that they are holding? i dont know the specific name for them.

The other man is the Romanian Marshal Ion Antonescu. Both men are holding their Marshal's Batons.

No; there is no special name. In German, this item is called Marschallstab, which also simply means "Marshal's Baton".

I just found another badge that is similar to the one mentioned !!!!!

It is in the 'e-militaria.com sales website, called an
    'Army Championships Commemorative badge'.

The badge itself reads: 'Heeres Meisterschaften - Kassel 2.6.8. 1933'
It is of bright metal, eight sided, and has the same profile bust.

    Maybe this is the one.
    Regards,

    Steve.

It's not that pathetic - I would probably have bought one and done the same, most likely.

I actually SAW this type of pin today for sale at the 'Toronto Militaria Show' ! !
It's strange how these things pop up when you aren't really looking for them !
I had never seen one before, only on that site.

I forgot to ask the guy how much he wanted ......
    Regards,

    Steve.
