What a fascinating group of photographs. 1930's Germany through the eyes and lens of a teenage lad. Having the images in the original album brings context to the plot and tells a story.
Regards, Mark

A fantastic album, that I hope is never broken up. The visit to Hamburg 27/8/1938; I believe the Naval vessel under construction is the Cruiser "Admiral Hipper" at the Blohm & Voss shipyard, Hamburg. The hull was launched in 1937 but the final fitting out and commissioning not until 1939, so a photo in 1938 fits.

Great album, a personal look at 1930's Germany through the eyes of an HJ member.
Thanks for sharing this great piece of History.

Absolutely stunning. I can't recall ever seeing such a detailed and complete photo album before. This is simply remarkable..

Plenty to look at, there. Congratulations on an excellent find!
A few more places I can ID: The amphitheatre in the bottom left photo in picture no. 42 is the Kalkbergstadion at Bad Segeberg. The top right photo in picture no. 87 was taken at the Völkerschlachtdenkmal in Leipzig (see: War Memorials ) and the bottom left one at the Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam.
Also of note is the poem in picture no. 43:
"Die Einen sind vom Fressen fett und
ernten fremde Saaten.Sie haben Haus
und Hof und Bett. Die Andern sind Soldaten.
Die Einen wurden riesenreich, die Anderen
ruh'n in Flandern. Sind sie vor Gottes-
sonne gleich, die Einen und die Andern?"
["Some are fat from gorging themselves and
harvest what others have sown. They have a house
and land and a bed. The other ones are soldiers.
Some have grown immensely rich, the other ones
rest in Flanders. Are they equal before God's
sun, some and the others?"]
Baldur von Schirach, the later head of the Hitler Youth wrote these verses in 1925 at 18 years of age.
I like the statement in no. 63:
"Anspruchslose Infantrie... möge Gott Dich schirmen!"
[Undemanding infantry... may God shield you!"]
(Ironically, he has misspelled "Infanterie", though.)

Thank you Andreas for taking time to look through. My German has gone to time since being a kid with Oma. I appreciate you pulling somethings out to post on. So much here in this nice album I have so much I did not even get close ups of.
