    Normally there are several made.

I have a photo postcard from WW1 of the town I live.
These were made by glass plate's, and then printed with special inkt & lamps on a postcard. If i have the time, i will post my card.

    Kind Regards Vincent

I have wondered that myself, Zaitsev.
Here is a link to a thread of mine where you can view the front an back of such a post card:

It looks like a one shot deal but I would assume that several prints may have been made for family and friends. It is an actual photographic print from the early 1900s, exposed and developed right on postcard sized photo sensitive paper, but the back is divided and has a rectangle in the upper right corner for placement of the stamp.

    Regards,

Early postcard were no more than prints stuck to heavy card this continued up untill the late 30's when photograpic printing became easyier, and slightly cheaper than the laborious task of multi printing and mounting on the appropriate backing card. we have it so easy with laser printers and digital images.

Thanks for clarifying that, Rick. Times have really changed!
