Re: Looking to id photo's
The SS photo doesn't inspire much confidence with regard to authenticity from the image above.....
The other photo - NSKK perhaps? (At a guess!)
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Re: Looking to id photo's
I would agree with Adrian. The Waffen SS photo is a well known wartime image, but it looks like a modern reprint to me too. The runes and eagle stamp is bogus.
The last photo shows men of the Heer, part of the pre war Reichswehr. The clue lies in the vehicle number plate. The crash helmets are similar to the NSKK style (which are all based in the motorcycle helmet of the day) If you look closely the buckles appear painted field grey.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Looking to id photo's
Thank you both. I also noticed that there seems to be a mock turret on the top of the vehicle behind the men. Is this for the type of "war games" that the Reichswehr were conducting before full re-armament kicked in?

Re: Looking to id photo's
Hi Jeff, you are correct.
The vehicle underneath is an Adler Standard 6. Built 1930 -1932.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Looking to id photo's
I like that Reichswehr group photo. The vehicles and helmets look so odd us nowadays and have an interesting, almost retro-futuristic look to them, a bit like something from an old 1930s sci-fi serial.
Two more images of this type of vehicle:

Don't think anyone has mentioned this ... the man in the top right photo is wearing a Police uniform.
Someone may be able to tell you more about which branch he is in.
