He is wearing his flight blouse. One would think he would wear his dress four pocket tunic to a wedding.
Thanks real! I thought that's what it was but wasn't sure! Odd choice of wedding wear!
Yes..an NCO four pocket "rock" with all that silver tress would have been more appealing than a flight blouse. Maybe he did not want to take the attention away from his bride ?. This is very early. Note there is no eagle on the tunic.
Maybe. If I would have worn work clothes to my wedding my wife would have slapped the hell out of me!
He apparently is wearing the tunic for what they phrase as the Dienstanzug
(service dress) or kleiner Dienstanzug (informal service dress), along with
long pants. Maybe he thought he was dressed sufficient.
The photo is not early in my opinion, in spite of the fact there is no breast
eagle. When having a closer look, the second version eagle is being worn
with the visored cap. The tail is not down!
Thanks Wim! I had thought early war due to the lack of decorations. Definitely seem like an odd choice of uniform for his wedding.
It might be possible the photo is not even early war, but about
1938/1939. The second version Luftwaffe eagle came into being
with the dress-regulation from April 1937.
I do not know out-of-heart when the lanyard was introduced,
but with the army this was 1936.
Interesting. I hadn't thought possibly pre-39. Thank you Wim for taking a look at this image. Perhaps then the boating image I posted could also be pre war as they were together. But, that doesn't really mean anything.
I do not have an idea with "boating image"?
sorry, just saw it.....
