Re: My partial photograph collection, so far.

My thoughts too Paul, not a good sign......
Why a bad sign, I'm sure the Russians captured everything they could, and that would include photographs also.
It says on the back in Russian in the middle, translated into
" REPAID "
To me, that would say that it is an war time period photograph.
This photograph i did get from some one in Berlin, that did live on the Russian side, during the cold war era.
Why does it having Russian on the back throw up red flags, please explain this to me.

Re: My partial photograph collection, so far.
Yes, i have found that out, but thanks for sharing , as some probably do not know this.
So, would this make it a more valuable photograph.

Re: My partial photograph collection, so far.
Brian unfortunatley faking of photos like this has gone on in a large scale in Russia and the Ukraine over the last few years and they have flooded onto the market via flea bay etc , they nearly always have some type of Russian archice markings and scribble on them to authenticate them !!
I believe although i'm not certain that these particular photos are from the personal estate of Das Reich Sturmgeschutz Eichenlaub Trager Ernst- August Krag , who features on some of the other photos.

Re: My partial photograph collection, so far.
So, do you believe its authentic, as i do, the photograph is just like many of my other ones i own also.
Same feel, same weight, same type of paper, and quality.

Could you please provide with an link of some sort, as I'm always online looking for WW2 German photographs, and i have never seen this one before., other then on historical web sites, and such.
Since I'm a disabled vet, i don't work, so i have a lot of time on my hands, and I'm always on google, and other search engines, and such.
Thanks

Re: My partial photograph collection, so far.
Brian if you search on some of the other well known forums and search under fake russian photo you will see plenty of them.
One of the give aways is the quality of your photo compared to the original plus the Russian archive markings.

Re: My partial photograph collection, so far.
What you find is they are always "sexy" photos , Personalities , SS RKT's , highlty decorated , Tigers etc , never some ordinary Landser sitting cleaning his boots !!

Ok, i see what you mean, that is the only one that has the Russian on the back.
The others ones have either the film name, or plain, writing in German, stamping in German, , and the bigger ones seem to have a studio mark, or possibly a postcard type backing on them.
Here are the pics lined up accordingly, and flipped also for back viewing.
Sorry about the shadows, damn camera.
