Thanks Bill again an amazing photo and you are right of course that the two most vunlerable spots on a tank are the underbelly including the tracks of course and the rear of the tank in around the engine compartment area I think a lot of that is do to the angle of the armor plating thoe .

    Regards Mark K

Hi Mark, I really am truly sorry...I hate being the one to tell!! Unfortunately these are what are known as "Russian Archive" photos. They are indeed images that were printed postwar, many of which are Well known images of KC winners, SS pics, etc. Here is the reverse of my bad Russian photo to compare. Mine has only the pencil scribble, but same paper is used for printing and same Cut around the edges. One thing to easily ID these is the "yellowish color" printed with Sepia process.
The good thing is that you found some awesome images, so no matter what....you have some cool photos!

I will post the russian fake first....then another type of fake made to trick collectors

here is a fake that is all over Ebay. The fakers go as far as using fake stampers to put paper printing company logos like "Agfa Brovira", Agfa Lupex" etc.

If you can see....the Agfa marks are NOT in the correct location on the paper. Also, if u look closely...you can see that the markings are not aligned correctly. One is pointing upwards, while the other is more straight. This doesnt happen on period prints. Please anyone feel free to ask questions before you buy any photos you are unsure of....or just wanna double check! There are alot of knowledgable members here that can help

This is the "ADOLF MULLER" Fake (meant to decieve)

Mark, to be honest.....there are some that WILL NOT glow. A reason why the blacklight test is only good as a "checking test", and if it does glow....then I wouldnt trust it. But if it doesnt glow, then you should still use other methods to determine a period printed photo.
If you take your fingertip to the corner of the photo paper and peel the first layer off..... that inside layer...will most likely glow. But the Ebay fake and SOME Russian fakes are made so that the front "layers" will not glow.

FAKE is word that isnt so easy when it comes to ww2 photos. The ones Ive posted are being sold as Period Printed photos, so in my book they are FAKE.
BUT, alot of soldiers took pictures during the war....but didnt develop the photos until they got home, sometimes years later. These are still ORIGINAL photos, but are obviously not period printed. So photos in that situation should have some type of provenance if you are going to buy them IMO.
