Dean that's a great FJ photo. It would look great on the cover of a book.

Guys,
Now that the thread has reached nearly 260 pages it has reached a level where much of the interesting content is being lost in the sheer volume !! Many nice original units and personality shots together with uniforms relating to all branches of the Wehrmacht and the SS have been posted which have a great historical and research value but it is likely that many members will not see them as they haven't the time to go through 260 pages !!
To that end i suggest that if someone has some new photos to post which are more than just general interest then maybe a new thread is started to include them rather then them going into the " Giant thread " never top be seen again,
cheers
Paul

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Hi Paul, the search engine still helps though, even with a thread like this which has so many pages.
For example i typed ''Deutsche Kreuz in Gold photos'' in the ''search'' box and it gave me many results including this thread. When i clicked on it, i was directed to page 196 were Bill had posted a photo with an officer wearing this decoration.
But as you suggested it could be easier to make new threads, i don't know
