New photos!
British HMS Vancouver D33 & HMS Walker D27 Destroyers:
SMS Schlesien, the sister ship of SMS Schleswig-Holstein who fired the first shot of WW2. They were the two surviving Deutschland-class battleship pre-dreadnoughts, and some of the very few surviving WW1 ships from the German fleet that were not confiscated or scuttled by the allies for war reparations.
A little bit of everything here, SA, SS, NSDAP Party members, and one fine gentlemen in the center with copious medals:
Avenger.love the pics nice diverse set of uniforms, hats and equipment.....First picture... love what appears to be an old style field cap (want one )...but can't I'd that tiny rifle. Not a k98 nor a G33...any ideas anyone?
This what make pictures a window to the past and so fun...
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

It says:
"Panzerschiffe "Spee"
und "Scheer"
bei den engl.
Krönungsfeierlichkeit(en)"
...i.e.:
"Cruisers "Spee"
and "Scheer"
during the English
coronation festivities"
This means the photo was taken at Spithead in 1937, when the Admiral Graf Spee and her sister ship the Admiral Scheer took part in the international fleet parade on the occasion of George VI's coronation.
That's the Interimsstab carried by all field marshals on everyday duty and informal occasions when the actual Marschallstab was not used.
