One of the first members of LSSAH
Collecting German Nazi postcards I’ve accidentally found this one. It was written in Nurnberg on 4th of September 1933 and was sent to Martin Brühne by his brother Christian.
The text is not too remarkable: some greetings from “the first party rally in the new Germany”, but I’ve noticed that in the upper left corner of the postcard the sender has written: “We got our standard and now we are called Leibstandarte Adolf SS Hitler”.
It seemed to be interesting for me and, as I understood, the sender was Christian Brühne, one of the first 117 members of SS-Stabswache and later of LSSAH.
I’ve found his photo in Georges Berange’s book “Berlin 1945”, Russian edition. The photo, dated 8.04.1933, was made in Berlin Sportpalast. Christian is on the right. The other guys from left to right are Steiner, Schmiedl, von Benthen, Beutler.
Born in Borkum, 13.10.11, SS № 45461, NSDAP № 546323, he was a student when entered SS-Stabswache.
But I didn’t find a lot of info about him. The latest is that he was SS-hauptsturmführer and a company commander in SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 9 "Germania" until 8.1944.
Can anybody find out smth else about Christian Brühne?

Notice how young they look. They are just 20 year old kids.

It's 1933, so in some years such kids will conquer half of Europe.

Sad but true.

And commit horrific war crimes in the process...

You want to write to the so called Deutsche Dienststelle, about which others know more.
There are also veterans organizations for the Waffen SS, but I would cleave to the government entities concerned with the actual biographies of those
in service.
Eicke particularly preyed on teen agers for his Wachverbaende and later SSTV. There is an element of the obscene in the manipulation of young men to
derive a sense of belonging through violence, but it is also an entirely banal truth of war, society and politics.
