Although the defence line has been bvroken the advance down Tartu mantee is cautious , Russian troops are still fighting , snipers are operating and casualties are being taken !!

Quick question, I visited Talinn a few years ago, did the old town escape much of the battle or it was rebuilt very well ?

Tallinn and the old town survived very well Nick , not too much damage , the heaviest bombing was in March 1944 but the old town escaped !!

The Russian's bombed areas of it. I take it that was March '44 Paul? I'm glad it got away fairly lightly. I would say it's the most friendly & ornate city i've been to. Stewy
