    Hi Guys

    Have this Post Card--Part of a Photo Album) Could some one help out with a Little Translation? I understand its From Karl possibly to his wife to be?

    I've been Brave and unstuck a Few photos that i will share with you---Hoping for some help with Translating these, if you could be so kind.

    Ive tried many times to Id People in these photos! I'm on the understanding its 36 inf Div.

    One guy I may have Put a name to is Lindemann, Guy in bottom photo with missing left arm? He was In Command of this Unit at the time of the Photos were taken, Just before Otto Ottenbacher took over.

    36 inf Div----If I'm right) Was Destroyed in Stalingrad. Luckily, My Man was Transferd to another Division late 1940

    36. Infanterie-Division was formed in Kaiserslautern on 1 Oct 1936. It was mobilized Aug 1939 as part of the 1. Welle (wave). It was reorganized and redesignated 36. Infanterie-Division (mot) on 1 Nov 1940.


    It was de-motorized, reorganized and redesignated 36. Infanterie-Division on 1 May 1943. It was strengthened by the addition of Divisions-Gruppe 268 in Nov 1943. The division was destroyed at Bobruysk in June 1944 during the Soviet summer offensive. It was reformed on 3 Aug 1944 as the 36. Grenadier-Division.

    Paul, Would be interested to no if you have come across Otto Ottenbacher Sig On your travels. Ive spent a while trying to Find others. Seen one on a web site before. but that's it. Simon Orchard---what a Star) Helped with Id dying this Sig.
