nahhh hes not grumpy. Its just that if he lets one person get away with posting there own dog, then everyone is gonna start doing it too. Im sure hes just tryin to keep it strictly original wartime photos, which is fully understandable.

BTW Adrian, I didnt notice at first, but it looks like the photo on the first page with the dogs and the little pup are actually pulling the soldiers on some type of sled. Thats pretty funny they hooked the small dog up to the sled too.
THERES GOTTA BE MORE OUT THERE GUYS, KEEP EM COMIN
No, not grumpy. As Bill said, just trying to steer the topic back to period photos so we don't get overwhelmed by everyone's pet pooch!

Thanks for posting yours Bill. Yes, the two Malinios and the little dog are pulling the sled. I think the little dog is the same one as in the photos in post #18 and I'm fairly sure one of the two Malinios is pictured with the basket of puppies too.

Found this about the 3rd War Dog Platoon , dutys , search out the enemy hiding in the bush, detect mines and booby traps, alert troops in foxholes at night to approaching Japanese, and to carry messages, ammunition and medical supplies

    Great photos!!
There was a tv series on the discovery or history channel called "dogs of war" all about the US marines useing dogs in ww2. Alot of them were shot after the war because they were too aggressive to go back into family homes. Well worth looking up.
