Here is a sign that I have from a group of German photos I have

The sign reads: Entry of the town is forbidden, nosey people endanger their lives as well as the lives of their comrades..

Umlietung is: Detour... so I would imagine there was a detour around the outskirts of the city..

In my book: "Wall Plaques and Official Signboards of Hitler's Germany, 1933-1945"
some photos were shown with such signs. They and other things were not the subject
for the book, but shown for the interest of the readers. Signs as shown here in this
thread could be a great subject for a book.

Thanks for posting the sign of the Estonian Security Group ( Sicherungsgruppe ) 181 i've not seen it before !

I put together this photo and patch for a friend of mine. It is one of the few photos he has of his father. This would be just after the crossing of the Rhine period - around April 1945. The sign indicates there is a sub-camp of Stalag IX-C right down the road. It was a work camp for Allied prisoners who worked the potassium mines in the Thuringia region. I think this puts him on the same path of the 3rd Army since he was part of the 5. Corps in support of Patton.
