    Hello folks.

I purchased this from the same dealer who sold me the Panzergrenadier photo album. German soldiers posing in front of the Eiffel Tower. An iconic image of the Second World War, with even Hitler having his picture taken in front of the monument.

There is handwriting on the back. I can't read most of it, but can make out the date of 8th May 1941. There is also an ink stamp from a Parisian photo firm. I do wonder how many of these men survived the war...

Hundreds of thousands of photographs like this one must have been taken during the period of occupation. Anyone else have any photographs like this one?

    Regards, B.B.

Taken from the same balcony as the famous Hitler photograph?

But the most usual was to take the photo from the Field of Mars.
The photographers had a sign on which to put the date every day.
They tackled groups of German "tourists" at the cry of: Gruppen photo! Grüppen photo !!
Then they brought the requested number of copies to the quarters where the German soldiers who had been photographed were staying
