    Hello,

This was brought to me and I was asked if I would be interested in it. YES.

I no longer collect anything but WW1 US uniforms and field gear but I could not pass up an SS grouping directly from his grandson. It consists of 30 to 40 photos of the SS officer in all stages of his military and civilian life. He served in the Latvian army, Russian army and at the end was an SS officer. There are photos of him in numerous types of uniforms. There are also his medals and decorations and three corresponding papers issued to him for each medal received. There are ribbon bars and his Latvian patch. There are numerous after war pictures of him and his family. There are passes and other paperwork as well. There are what look like copies of other war medals received under the ones pictured. I am still trying to find more on this officer and how he could have served in three different armies and not been killed. Luck would be a good guess. I am at work at the moment and so can not get any more pictures to you. I will try later if anyone wants to see them. Have a good day.

    Wow....that is nice. Congrats.

Any photos of him in uniform with the ribbons through a button hole or wearing the IAB?

I've found the info that Lieutenant Edvins Leimanis served as an officer for arms in the Sonderkommando Arajs. Is it this person?

Yes, that is his name. Sorry did not get a chance to check back last night. Just to much to do. I will try and get some closeup photos of some of the better pictures. It may take a while as I accidentally broke the digital camera last night and need a new one. Thank you for the likes and the info on Lieutenant Edvins Leimanis. All info is appreciated.

So that's what I've found about this guy:
Edvīns Eižens Magnuss Leimanis, born 13.07.1907 in Riga, Latvija, died in California 09.09.1991, Edvīns Eižens Magnuss Leimanis (1907 - 1991) - Genealogy

And I've found the article about Herberts Cukurs (the info about Cukurs: Herberts Cukurs - Wikipedia) so there are some words about Leimanis there:
"If someone would ask me if there was a possibility while serving under Arajs command to kill a Hebrew in his home ,I would say yes. In 1941. 300 men served under Arajs and his unit needed administrative people, who were responsible for maintaining modern inventory. Lieutenant Leimanis served as an officer for arms."

Is it the same person? Compare the photos.

These photos of the old man and young kid don't look like the ones I have but I also don't have one of him at that age. I will keep looking and researching. I have found out more of his Latvian army life. Apparently he was with a Latvian air, ground support, unit. Still researching. Thanks for the info.

As a commercial illustrator and portrait artist by profession, with the resultant Physiognomy training that goes with it, I can confirm that this is the same man in all of those photos posted.
