Article about: Hi folks, I picked this up & would like your thoughts. They look to be wearing volunteer patches. Possibly taken at a hospital as there appear to be nurses in the background. There's not

    Hi folks, I picked this up & would like your thoughts. They look to be wearing volunteer patches. Possibly taken at a hospital as there appear to be nurses in the background. There's nothing written on the reverse. Stewy

    I don't think so. Wrong sleeve. Definitely pre war, more likely 20s . Long before SS and foreign volunteers. I do not see any Nazi insignia at all. A WW I veterans group probably.

    They are members of the Stahlhelmbund. The photograph was taken no earlier than 1933, when the Stahlhelmbund came under Nazi/SA control (note the presence of the Swastika armbands).
